Search five-letter words by the clues you actually know

This finder is a flexible five-letter search rather than a color-board solver. It works well when you know a prefix, suffix, contained letter, or exclusion but do not have a complete position pattern.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter one or more known features. Use starts with, ends with, contains, or excludes. Leave uncertain fields blank.
  2. Combine compatible clues. Every active field must match, and the tool always keeps the total length at five letters.
  3. Use the result list as a shortlist. Compare candidates with the puzzle clue or game board before choosing one.

The five-letter length is automatic. The remaining fields describe letter placement or exclusion and are applied together.

When it is useful

  • A five-space clue gives you a beginning, ending, or reliable internal letter.
  • You want five-letter vocabulary for a classroom or writing exercise.
  • A word game needs a quick list without entering color clues position by position.

Puzzle-solving tips

  • Start broad, then add the strongest known condition. Too many guesses in the fields can eliminate the real answer.
  • Use Starts With or Ends With for position information; Contains only requires the group somewhere in the word.
  • When playing a color-clue game, switch to the Wordle Solver for exact green positions and repeated-letter handling.

WordTorch begins with local five-letter entries, then checks each active prefix, suffix, contained sequence, and excluded-letter rule. Results must pass all of them.

Because the length is fixed by the tool, you do not need to add a separate five-letter filter. The dictionary choice controls how familiar or expansive the candidate list is.
